Coming of Age for Adults

Coming of Age for Adults is a 6-session series designed for adults of all ages to explore their spiritual journey and religious identity. You will reflect on how you got to now, engage with texts as they relate to your spiritual life, and craft a statement about who you are as a person of faith. Coming of Age for Adults is part of the Faith Forward Adult faith Formation Curriculum, this is not an introduction to Unitarian Universalism, but a course for members and congregants who have are ready to explore UUism at a deeper level.

When we hear “coming of age,” we typically think of young people. And yet, we “come of age” again and again at various points in our adult lives as we go through changes in our lives and relationships.

At the conclusion of each session, the facilitators will refer to a handout with a reflection question or “assignment” for participants to engage with between this session and the next. There is no way to include all of the hoped-for reflection within a 90-minute session, so the reflection questions/assignments are an opportunity for participants to extend their engagement beyond the group session time.

Each session will also include one or two 5-10 minute stretch break.

This series requires registration, The sessions are designed for a maximum of 12 participants.

Facilitators:
Lindsey Sylvester, Jeff Beland & Ben Atherton-Zeman
