At UU Nashua, our Covenant Groups are composed of 8-10 individuals who meet monthly to share and explore issues more deeply than may be possible in other areas of congregational life. These are wonderful for both longtime members as well as anyone new to our community. We ask that you make the commitment to attend your group's gatherings from Jan - June as your group builds and grows connections each time you gather. We understand life and illness happen, and we ask you to make this a priority as best you are able.
These new groups will explore the worship themes explored in worship each month. Gatherings will consist of time for a personal check-in, opening readings & chalice lighting, and words for reflections followed by a collection of questions participants can choose from to inspire thoughtful reflection & sharing. These create a facilitated conversation that helps members connect with their own voices and the voices and experiences of our community.
The remaining monthly themes are:
December: Mystery
January: Liberating Love
February: Justice & Equity
March: Transformation
April: Interdependence
May: Pluralism
June: Renewal
We are hoping to start 2 new covenant groups in January! We already have enough interest for one group and may form two as more of you sign up!
Groups are facilitated by church members who are trained and supported by fellow covenant group leaders and the Director of Faith Formation.
The goals of our Small Group Ministry Covenant Groups are to:
- Listen and be listened to in a safe place
- Learn about the mysteries of our world and our spiritual paths
- Build new and deeper personal connections
- Serve our community and the needs of one another
- Maintain personal connections and a caring community
Does this sound like something you would like to join?
Please let us know which Sundays after church work for you and we will be in touch!
